This swatch comes from a large purple piece of fabric, purchased at the auction estate sale of John Craig, aka the 'Heaven's Gate Auction." The auction was held on November 20th, 1999. This fabric was found among other linens, and while it can not be confirmed as having been placed on a body, it is the same type of fabric and came from inside the Heaven’s Gate Mansion.
