Robert Lee Yates Jr. (born May 27, 1952) is an American serial killer convicted of murdering at least 13 women in Spokane, Washington, between 1996 and 1998, and linked to additional homicides dating back to the 1970s. Yates, a former U.S. Army helicopter pilot and family man, targeted sex workers whom he shot and disposed of in rural or secluded areas.

He was arrested in 2000 and eventually confessed to multiple murders. Yates received a life sentence for 13 killings in 2000, followed by a death sentence for two more in 2002. His death sentence was later commuted to life imprisonment. His case highlights the contrast between outward normalcy and hidden violent compulsions often found in organized serial offenders.
