Charles Albright was an American convicted murderer and suspected serial killer best known as the “Eyeball Killer”, a nickname tied to the disturbing mutilation of his victims. Born in 1933, Albright was a highly intelligent but deeply troubled man whose life was marked by fraud, theft, and violence long before he became linked to murder.

He was convicted in 1991 for the murder of Shirley Williams, a sex worker in Dallas, Texas, after she was found strangled and mutilated. The case became infamous because the eyes of the victim had been surgically removed, leading investigators and the media to suspect Albright in a string of similar unsolved murders involving women in the Dallas area. Although only convicted of one murder, many believe he may have been responsible for multiple killings.

Albright’s eerie reputation was fueled by his bizarre background—he was reportedly raised by an overbearing adoptive mother who pushed him into taxidermy, surgery-like precision work, and perfectionism, details that only added to the sinister mythology surrounding the case. He died in prison in 2020, still maintaining a shadowy place in true crime history as one of the more unsettling and elusive suspected serial killers of the late 20th century.
