Edmund Emil Kemper III (born 1948), known as the β€œCo-Ed Killer,” is an American serial killer who terrorized California between 1972 and 1973. Intelligent and highly articulate, Kemper targeted young female college students, often offering them rides before brutally murdering them. His crimes escalated to the killing of his own mother and her friend, acts he later described as the culmination of long-standing rage and psychological disturbance. Kemper ultimately turned himself in, confessed in detail, and was sentenced to life in prison without parole, where he remains incarcerated.
