Aileen Wuornos Signed Seven Page Religious Letter

This is a seven page letter sent from Aileen Wuornos to her best friend Dawn. The letter is made up entirely of religious writings and thoughts by Aileen. She became extremely religious while on Death Row and studied religion extensively, and was even working on a book about it. Aileen signed the letter multiple times. Included is the original mailing envelope.

Aileen Carol Wuornos (February 29, 1956 – October 9, 2002) was an American serial killer who murdered seven men in Florida between 1989 and 1990. Working as a sex worker along highways, Wuornos shot her victims with a .22 caliber pistol and later claimed the killings were committed in self-defense against clients who had assaulted or attempted to assault her.

She was arrested in January 1991 and subsequently confessed to the murders. Wuornos was convicted of six counts of first-degree murder and sentenced to death. Her case drew widespread media attention due to her troubled upbringing, history of abuse, and complex psychological profile. Wuornos was executed by lethal injection in Florida on October 9, 2002.
