This is an original letter sent from Manson Family member and convicted killer Charles “Tex” Watson. The letter is handwritten and signed “Charles.” It is accompanied by the original mailing envelope which bears his typed name, address and prison ID number.

Charles “Tex” Watson was a central participant in the infamous 1969 Manson Family murders. A devoted follower of Charles Manson, Watson played a leading role in the brutal attacks at the home of actress Sharon Tate, where five people were killed, as well as the following night’s murders of Leno and Rosemary LaBianca. Convicted on multiple counts of first degree murder and conspiracy, Watson was sentenced to death, a sentence later commuted to life imprisonment after California temporarily abolished the death penalty. He remains incarcerated, making him one of the last surviving principal figures directly responsible for the Manson Family killings.
