Here we have a letter/notes sheet that was sent by Christa Pike to her long time penpal, Andrew Dodge. This page contains a photo of her, and other printed quotes photocopied onto the page. Around the photo, Pike has handwritten notes and poems, including one that reads “In this moment I am still very much alive and shall take advantage of every last moment with all of my black heart.” She then signed it “Living Dead Girl, Christa Pike.” This is a very rare and sought after item following the botched execution of Pike in Tennessee last month.

Christa Gail Pike is an American convicted murderer known for one of the most notorious crimes committed by a female offender in Tennessee. In January 1995, at the age of 18, Pike participated in the torture and murder of 19 year old Colleen Slemmer, a fellow student at the Job Corps training center in Knoxville, Tennessee. The killing was reportedly motivated by jealousy and personal conflict.
Pike was convicted of first degree murder in 1996 and sentenced to death, becoming the youngest woman on Tennessee’s death row in modern history. Her case drew national attention due to the brutality of the crime and her age at the time of the murder.
