Richard McCroskey, also known as “Syko Sam,” was an aspiring horrorcore rapper from California who became known for the 2009 Farmville murders in Virginia. In September 2009, McCroskey killed four people—16-year-old Emma Niederbrock, her mother Debra Kelley, Emma’s friend Melanie Wells, and Emma’s father Mark Niederbrock—during a violent attack at Kelley’s home.
McCroskey was arrested while attempting to return to California and ultimately pleaded guilty to two counts of capital murder and two counts of first-degree murder. He was sentenced to four life sentences in September 2010.
