Richard Ramirez “The Night Stalker” Original Artwork

A rare original artwork attributed to notorious serial killer Richard Ramirez, better known as the “Night Stalker.” This unusual hand drawn piece features a grotesque, sinister looking character wearing a green jester-style hat, rendered in colored pencil/crayon with bold black outlines and vivid red, green, and orange tones.

The artwork is signed “Richard Ramirez” and “Night Stalker” in the lower right corner, making it an especially distinctive piece of Ramirez related material. Unlike the more commonly encountered writings and correspondence associated with Ramirez, original drawings of this nature are considerably less frequently offered to collectors.

Richard Ramirez (February 29, 1960 – June 7, 2013), known as “The Night Stalker,” was an American serial killer, rapist, and burglar active in California between 1984 and 1985. His crimes were marked by extreme violence and satanic symbolism, targeting victims of varied ages and backgrounds. Ramirez’s attacks created widespread fear throughout Los Angeles and San Francisco.

He was arrested in August 1985 after being recognized and subdued by local residents. In 1989, Ramirez was convicted of 13 counts of murder and numerous other charges, including attempted murder, sexual assault, and burglary. He was sentenced to death and remained on death row at San Quentin State Prison until his death from complications related to B-cell lymphoma on June 7, 2013.
