Dennis Lynn Rader (born March 9, 1945) is an American serial killer known as the “BTK Killer,” an acronym for “Bind, Torture, Kill,” describing his method of murder. Between 1974 and 1991, Rader murdered ten people in and around Wichita, Kansas. He led a seemingly ordinary life, working as a compliance officer and serving as president of his local church council.

Rader taunted police and media through letters detailing his crimes, maintaining contact with authorities for decades.
